Elegantly Growing and Flowing Into My Desired Self
**Afflitate links are included in this blog post.
Now that the month of September has arrived, I’m ready for new concert seasons, art fairs, film festivals, and eventually welcoming autumn. Figure drawing class was on summer break and finally returns next week. Speaking of concerts, I’ve also been waiting with much anticipation for the opening weekend at the symphony, and I know it’s going to be a fantastic concert.
This summer I was also able to fill up my days — mainly my Friday nights — with my usual events of gallery hopping, volunteering with a local arts organization that’s always delightful, re-reading some classic novels that I’ve had in my home library for decades, adding Japanese to my growing list of language learning, and finding small joys that allow me to stay present throughout my days. I’m so grateful that I’m able to find events around the city that are so satisfying for myself. When I first read The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron, it allowed me to remember my love for the arts and how much it’s truly shaped my life in the most amazing ways. It’s given me permission to create again, whether it’s drawing, playing my viola, putting together a gorgeous outfit (which, by the way, is an excellent art form in and of itself), or even starting this blog.
I’ve also given myself permission to create the life that I desire and surround myself with art and beauty, by gaining inspiration from digital courses that helped me step even further into that space of ease and femininity. I discovered Ashlina Kaposta, digital creator, life and business coach, blogger and so much more, over a decade ago when I downloaded one of her free e-books, and from there I purchased a lovely piece of jewelry, and when I discovered she also reads birth charts, I decided to get mine read. All I can say is that there’s so much more to it than one’s Sun sign (Scorpio being mine) and a lot of things started to make so much sense. For example, my Moon in Libra is very telling, as I have a penchant for beauty, aesthetics, fashion, and of course, art.
In addition to my birth chart reading, I began taking her online courses, such as Soul Aligned, Feminine Frequency: Secure Woman Indentity Reset, Cosmic Influence, and The Glow Code (previously named Goddess Glow Up). These courses are wonderful to return to when I’m feeling a need to reconnect and realign with what really speaks to me and replenish my heart.
Feminine Frequency helped me really look at the old stories and mindsets that in a way kept me from being my most creative self over the past four years. There are journal prompts (yes, there’s homework but no grading) for discovering what doesn’t feel safe to receive in life, and what having one’s desires could truly feel like. Now that I’m in my 40s, I’m recapturing the wonder that I had when I was a young artist but from a perspective as an adult. I also make sure I affirm myself with kind words daily. As someone who believes that words have creative power, it’s very important to only speak positive an productive words over my life. This course has definitely reminded me to continue giving myself those affirmations.
Also, I really enjoy going back to The Glow Code as it’s shown me how I can be more intentional when I planned a great night out at the symphony, an art crawl, or even taking myself out to a lovely restaurant on a solo date. There’s also some great tips on creating rituals around self-care and self-love. Again, being a woman approaching my mid-40s in a couple of months, these rituals have given me permission to take the extra time to be present with myself in the mornings, so I’m ready to be my very best and most fabulous self throughout the day.
I’m very grateful for discovering Ashlina’s website that has opened the door for me to her books, blog, courses, and more. She also has an online community called House of Bliss, a space for women who are ready to rise to their highest selves and purpose. There’s also Manifestation Queen, a monthly online membership for the woman who wants to begin living out her dreams, and it’s also teeming with mindset tools, meditations, and practices to help women arrive to that elevate state.
I didn’t mention every course I’ve taken in detail in this blog post, but if you want to discover any of these amazing courses for yourself or simply want to get to know more about Ashlina Kaposta and her journey, feel free to check out any of the below links.
